Message from Late Mr. Basudev Banerjee

Late Sri Arobindo Banerjee was my paternal uncle. Both of us were born in a poor family in a remote village called Dasghara in the Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. My father passed away when he was thirty-two. At the age of fifteen, my uncle forwent his formal education and took upon himself the responsibility of supporting our family of five as a local priest. His selflessness and service earned him the respect of the village community. His sacrifice enabled me to pursue my formal education at Dasghara High School. I eventually graduated with a Masters in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute.

Out of profound respect for who Sri Arobindo Banerjee was, the encouragement he gave me and the life of service he led, I have established this Memorial Fund for the Pathways to Success Scholarship. Through this scholarship, I hope to pay tribute to his legacy and empower future Dasghara students to pursue post-higher Secondary education in the same way my uncle did for me all those years ago.
